Former CA Enterprise Applications Veteran to Drive Product Development and Growth
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 — Syncplicity, a leader in cloud based file management solutions, announced the appointment of Abhi Sawant as its new Vice President of Engineering. Sawant brings more than 15 years of technology and leadership experience to the company, where he will work closely with the executive team to drive product development, scale the development organization, and oversee Syncplicity’s worldwide customer support organization.

Prior to joining Syncplicity, Sawant was the head of development at CA Technologies (NASDAQ: CA) for Introscope, the company's flagship enterprise application performance management solution. Sawant first landed at CA through the company's $350 million acquisition of Wily Technology in 2006 where he led a team that implemented the executive team’s vision into a world-class product, building both the team and leading enterprise application management software solution from the ground up. Prior to Wily | CA, Sawant served as a senior member on the technical team in Oracle’s core Server Technologies Division, successfully launching numerous enterprise business products, including Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Sawant received a bachelor’s of science degree in computer engineering from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos in São Paulo, Brazil. He went on to earn a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Central Florida and an MBA from UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
