Cloud-based services to manage contracts, offered by Bellevue, Wash.-based Icertis, are now usable with file-sharing and collaboration service Box, the companies said this morning. They announced the integration at Boxworks, Box’s user conference, which began today in San Francisco.
Icertis is in the contract lifecycle management business, an emerging segment helping organizations create, approve, award, comply with and revise the often-complex legally binding agreements that are so essential to commerce. Box, of Redwood City, Calif., is in the enterprise file synchronization and sharing sector.
By offerings its services through Box, Icertis enables the sharing of draft contracts among attorneys and internal business teams, it said. Negotiations, usually the most difficult and involved aspect of contracting, are eased by the ability to quickly share proposed changes.
Icertis has raised a total of $21 million in funding from investors including Ignition Partners, Greycroft Partners and Fidelity Growth Partners India. The company increased its headcount 35 percent to 135 employees last year.
Research firm Forrester named Icertis a “leader” among 13 competitors listed in its third-quarter Wave report on that sector. Competitors include Apttus, CLM Matrix, CobbleStone Systems, Determine, Exari Systems, GEP, IBM Emptoris, Oracle, Revitas, SAP Ariba, SciQuest, Symfact and Zycus. Icertis said its contract-management services are being used to manage more than 2 million contracts in more than 90 countries and more than 40 languages.
For its part, Box competes with other cloud-oriented firms like Dropbox, with on-premises offerings like Acronis Access and Syncplicity, and with hybrid offerings including Citrix ShareFile, eFolder Anchor and Egnyte.
